A little about me..

Welcome.

I'm David.

I’m supposed to use this page to impress you with my literary prowess; but, let's be honest, we both know you only clicked here to see how handsome I am.

Anyway, here are some facts about me:

I’m from Yorkshire.

I’ve worked at a variety of jobs. The list is far too long to fit on this tiny page. Somewhere along my timeline I became a (success-starved!) professional jockey. I worked in the NHS as an ambulance driver. I studied at Leeds University and gained my BA Hons Degree in English with Teacher Status. I’ve always tried to pay a little back to society along the way, hence, I became a school-teacher.

Like so many other people, the state of today’s society, along with humanity in general remains a constant subject of interest to me. When things slip out of kelter, you either need to laugh, or cry. I choose to laugh, often to my son’s embarrassment, sometimes with him.

That’s why I wrote Honk! If You Love the NHS. It's a farcical, bloody satire about bureaucrats, butchers, and a completely unravelled Britain. If the characters weren’t so ludicrous, you could mistake it for non-fiction! (My debut novel, written for teenagers, Operation Annie, is knocking around here somewhere too).

I’m supposed to write more here, but frankly, there's a gig on tonight and I need to get going!

Enjoy!
